Overview

We produce cast valve bodies for gate valves, globe valves, check valves, and ball valves using both investment casting and sand casting processes. Cast valve bodies offer complex internal geometries, thin-wall sections, and smooth flow paths that would be difficult or expensive to machine from solid stock.

Casting Processes

Investment Casting (Lost Wax)

Investment casting produces near-net-shape valve bodies with excellent surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Ideal for stainless steel and alloy steel valve bodies up to 50kg.

  • Surface finish: Ra 3.2-6.3μm as-cast
  • Minimum wall: 3mm
  • Size range: 0.1kg to 50kg
  • Materials: CF8M (316 stainless), CF8 (304 stainless), WCB

Sand Casting

Sand casting is cost-effective for larger valve bodies and lower volume production. We use resin-bonded sand molds for improved dimensional accuracy.

  • Surface finish: Ra 12.5-25μm as-cast
  • Minimum wall: 6mm
  • Size range: 1kg to 500kg
  • Materials: WCB, WCC, WC6, WC9, GG25

Material Options

Material Grade Application
Cast carbon steel WCB, WCC General service, water, oil
Cast stainless steel CF8M (316), CF8 (304) Corrosive media, chemical
Cast low alloy steel WC6, WC9 High temperature steam
Cast bronze C90500 Marine, low-pressure
Cast iron GG25 Low-pressure water

Post-Casting Machining

All cast valve bodies are machined on critical surfaces:

  • Flange faces: Machined flat and parallel for gasket sealing
  • Bore: Machined to seat ring or ball dimensions
  • Threaded connections: Drilled and tapped to standard
  • Bonnet connection: Machined for bolt pattern

Why Choose Casting for Valve Bodies?

  • Complex internal geometry: Flow channels and cavities cast directly
  • Material efficiency: Near-net-shape reduces material waste
  • Cost advantage: Lower cost than machining from solid for complex shapes
  • Material variety: Wide range of cast alloys available
